National Survey on Households Living Standards (ENNVIH)

This survey is a joint project of the Universidad Iberoamericana (UIA) and the CIDE (Centro de Investigación y Docencia Económicas). Its main purpose is to collect information on multidimensional welfare of Mexican population using various indicators of living standards. The information collected covers individuals, both on household and community levels. Some of the covered topics are income, social programs, employment, time spending, health and retrospective health, crime and victimization, land ownership and family businesses, immigration, schools and health, and infrastructure. The ENNVIH project has had longitudinal surveys in 2002 and 2005. The next survey will be conducted for the 2009 year (see datasets).

The datasets are free and available at sitio del proyecto, previous registration is required. For the institutions responsible of this survey is very useful to keep a list of all data users. Syntax documents provided in this section are based on the 2002 survey and they can be used to tag variables and their correspondent values.
